I Understand the LTA have enough funds to exploit in­ tennis players . My question is who get selected ? the­ WEALTHY the FAMOUS THE ELITE KIDS ? I think britain­ has to modernize and make game clubs open to all.
In­ the Netherlands we are in the same position but TENIS­ IS FOR ALL AND at least the selection is not biased we­ fail for other reasons
Why does France for example­ have several French African players and Britain NONE ­ AT LEAST in the ATP.

And why did Lloyd gamble on­ Evans even if the better seeded failed before They were­ in a better position to make up .They had the advantage­ of experience.
I think if David Lloyd has class nd­ respect for himself and his country's interest com­ above his personal ego he has to leave .Please leave­ and give British team a chance. Britain give everyone­ equal chances

The coaching in this country is shockingly bad. I agree­ with the person that wrote that all the LTA coaches­ that are on 40-50k a year should be put on 12k a year­ and the rest be performance related. I'd love to­ see their reaction to that!!! I used to play on the­ Girobank Tour years ages ago and I used to see the LTA­ coached strutting around in their fancy GB tracksuits­ acting like they have produced world class players for­ years. I believe thats where the problem is, its not a­ lack of talent. Imagine if you were a recruitment­ consultant on 50k a year and you never placed anyone in­ a job and you never found new clients. What would­ happen to you??? YOU WOULD GET THE SACK!!! So why are­ these coaches still in their jobs WHEN THEY ARE­ SHOCKINGLY BAD AT THEM??? I coached for a while and I­ am not implying that I could have done a better job but­ I probably couldnt have done any worse!!! It is my­ opinion that the LTA is the single worst sporting­ governing body in the UK with infinitely more money­ than sense and when the hierarchy is questioned­ regarding their failings they answer like politicians,­ its embarassing. Its a shame for Andy Murray because­ while this regime is in control i doubt he will ever­ play at the highest level of Davis Cup. Send all the­ talented, promising kids to Spain or the States so the­ LTA dont get a chance to ruin their opportunity to­ realise their potential.

it is very sad to c a nation with such great wealth not­ able 2 perform. the responsabilty has 2 lye with those­ in charge 2 make sure the players are trained 2 world­ standards players like evans with poor discipline­ should be made an example of not represent the country.­ we need players who will give all and more 2 compete at­ the worlds highest standards with the resources on hand­ by now we should no exactly what is required when i­ listen to those in the know its always about the next­ generation of players 4 the solution time 4 a change in­ mentality sombody should stand up 2 the challenge 2day­ !!!!!

tula, tula, tula. I saw this post previously about two­ weeks ago! If you go to the trpouble of cut and pasting­ a two week old thread then youve got to be very sad­ indeed!

Apparently the LTA have about 50 million pounds to­ spend, so what are earth are they spending it on? For­ years they have supported the likes of Bogo, Hutchins­ et al, none of whom have made any use of the wild cards­ they are allocated at Wimbledon. They collect their­ money from the tournament and do nothing. Time to move­ on, let go of Elena Baltacha etc, they are going­ nowhere now, all over 25/26 too late. Spend the money­ on putting public courts around the country, and look­ for young talent. Write off this bunch of indulged no­ hopers, don't think you'd find any of the­ Croatians, Serbs etc in a club the night before a­ match, and the Polish team seemed full of pride and­ energy, unlike our fruit eating bunch sitting on the­ sidelines. Even Heather Watson chose to train in the US­ , without help from the LTA, time to sort all this out­ and instill some discipline and hunger to perform. We­ cannot expect Murray to incur injuries trying to save­ the rest, as he said we are now where we are supposed­ to be, perhaps we can beat Ireland etc, but don't­ bank on it.

We need to look at the coaching staff and so called­ talent that we are funding, as i new that we were going­ to lose this match after Evans was tottally out of his­ depth at this level .

We always look lightweight and­ were is the passion playing for Great Britain, as they­ are not hungry for success just losers.

We have just­ got to face the facts we are worse then useless in this­ sport, with the exception of Murray whom performed well­ with an injury

We can't blame John lloyd its the players not­ him.all we have is Andy Murray and he won his 2 singles­ matches.We need more young players coming up like we­ have on the girls side.

Fact is, the British public could not give a damn about­ tennis as a whole. Its generally seen as elitist,­ un-cool, not for the masses, so basically the nation­ wouldn't care a jot about the Davis Cup. From the­ outside, David Lloyd and co, are they really good­ enough to bring through new players and so on having­ achieved exactly what in his professional tennis­ playing life. I also think the Brits are too lazy as a­ nation, the young people are too lazy, fat, uneducated­ and ignorant to play tennis.
