Moss blasts Briatore, Piquet Jr

British racing legend Stirling Moss has placed the blame for Renault's woes firmly on the shoulders of Flavio Briatore and also accused Nelson Piquet Jr of a lack of professionalism.
Managing director Briatore and head of engineering Pat Symonds have left the French marque over allegations of race-fixing at last season's Singapore Grand Prix.
Piquet is said to have deliberately crashed to allow team-mate Fernando Alonso the benefit of safety-car conditions which saw him take the race win.
"I think it's appalling what he (Piquet) did: I can't believe he did it and I can't believe he opened his mouth about it," Moss, who recently turned 80, told Eurosport.
"I don't think it had anything to do with Alonso; I'm just staggered at Piquet for doing it and for coming out and talking about it. I would think he is finished in F1.
"I can't think that anyone would be stupid enough to give him a drive now. He might go to America for the IRL.
"I've lost respect for him... this is all very bad for the sport."
Piquet was sacked earlier this season due to his poor performances and has since testified to the governing FIA that he was asked by Briatore and Symonds to stage the accident at the night race.
Moss added that he expects Spaniard Alonso, who won two world titles with Renault and returned to the team last season after a year at McLaren, to move by 2010 - probably to Ferrari.
"I would think Alonso will be at one of the big teams next season. If I was managing Alonso I would be looking to Ferrari," he said.

Crispy you fukwit.... Calm yourself down....
Hello all.
I would like to hear your opinion on the following:
First of all, I, like many others on his forum disapprove of cheating or deceit and those individuals caught doing so should rightly receive punishment. However, a couple of previous posters also suggested that the entire team be disqualified and removed from F1. Have you also taken in to consideration that there are a lot of people who work very long hours eg: the pit mechanics repairing / rebuilding the cars and many other people working behind the scenes - who are totally innocent. What would become of these people? If the entire team is disqualified from competing, eg; banned for a few years, would not a lot of these people end up losing their jobs?
My personal opinion would be to punish those individuals who are committing the wrongdoing, or fine the team, but not disqualify or remove the entire team.
What are your thoughts on this matter?

Well...I can't see any Blast over Briatore by Moss...to be honest, this article and the heading is not matching at all

Moss is not an idiot, show some respect... If someone tells you to put the bullet in your brain, at least think twice before you do it! Nelsinho is miserably bad F1 driver, nevermind the results in lower categories. To crash a F1 car deliberately you must have a straw between your ears. Briatore never belonged to the F1 world, he doesn't know the difference between the crankshaft and the wheel...Too bad for Renault, always playing by the book and all that...
They will never have the FIA protection like the "old" outlaws (McLaren and Ferrari) which are free in trying to smuggle the jet engines if they like... Alonso to Ferrari? Bad move. Kimi is simply the fastest driver there is, and it's pretty sad how Ferrari treats his champions. Same old story once again... Lots of pesos in the game, I know, but Alonso isn't quite the bundle of joy Ferrari expects him to be... Kimi and LH in the same car? That will be interesting... McLaren still owes Kimi two world titles...
I agree with Sir Stirling Moss concepts, but this sort of things started years ago, and there were NO PUNISHMENT at all from FIA or anyone.
Examples: Senna and Prost intentional chashes in lap one,two yearsin a row, no consecuences for them, Michaels crash against Damon in 1994 giving him first championship. no consecuences at all, another crash by Schumi against Villeneuve......,luckily without cosecuences for jacques, and so and so.
Commercial interests are clearly behind absolute and shameful tolerance, so now, why all this reaction ???

When all is said and done, Flivio is too much of a goof-ball to hatch complex deciets as this one. Nelson Jr was and should be held responsible for suggesting and then carrying out a crime to crash a race car. Flavio sacked the looser and this is what Nelson Jr used as payback

How do you work that one out?
If Alonso and Renault were stripped of their placings at the Singapore GP, Hamilton would move up a place and get 2 extra points, leaving him WC by 3. In case you forgot (which you obviously did) Massa finished 12th in Singapore after a totally cocked-up pit stop. Nul points to him.
And all that is before Hamilton gets back the points he was robbed of at the Belgium GP...

my friends, the f1 is now the crazy mixed up sport full to the brim with the idiots, the liar, the cheats, the theives and the lunatics who smash cars in to walls.
but what most crazy is the uk mclaren fans.
for the many years the mclaren men steal, cheat, lie and lie again the uk fans not see the anything wrong with this. they loyal to the mclaren because they still see the glimour of something british in the car even though it now owned by the mercedes benz. they blinkered like a race horse on the heat.
over the past the 3 years the mclaren men commit every crime in the statute book, but this is ok because they are mclaren, they immune from the laws of the sport. it not the matter you steal your main competitors secrets, or you fix the last race of the season to win the championship or that you lie to officials to gain the place in a race, but if another team smash a car into the wall the mclaren fans want to shoot the team members, eat their children and burn the renault factory down. talk about the pot calling the nettle a cat.
the last one who should pass the judgement on this outrage is the mclaren. mclaren start this deceitful behaviour and are very the lucky to still be in the sport and now hopefully will the soon to be stripped of the 2008 championship when this race result is the nullified and the void..
one can only wonder the threats Flavio put on Piquet's career. Flav has to be the one most at fault here!! Being the young mans so called manager, he certainly did not help him to a good start in F-1. Piquet seemed very talented up to the point of joining Renault. Could he of said "no" to Flav? Maybe so!! Would he have been out of the car asap? I will guess to say "for sure" as the lingo in F-1 goes.......Dave K.
