The Vikings signal caller, who holds most of the league's passing records, threw for two touchdowns to bring Minnesota (2-0) back from a 10-0 deficit in his second game since ending his second retirement.

Detroit (0-2) lost its 19th consecutive regular-season game to equal the NFL's second-longest losing streak.

Favre broke the previous record of 270 consecutive starts by Minnesota defensive end Jim Marshall from 1961 through 1979.

The 39-year-old quarterback connected on 23 of 27 passes for 155 yards, including touchdown tosses of one yard to Visanthe Shiancoe and three yards to Percy Harvin.
