Premier League - Cops continue Diouf investigation

Eurosport - Mon, 21 Sep 15:07:00 2009

Merseyside Police are set to continue their investigations into allegations that Blackburn forward El-Hadji Diouf made a racist remark to a ball-boy at Sunday's Premier League match at Everton.

FOOTBALL 2009-2010 Premier League Blackburn El Hadji Diouf - 0

Police sources suggest that over the next 48 hours the Goodison Park ball-boy who has made the allegation will also be questioned.

Diouf was interviewed by police, accompanied by a Blackburn official, in a private room at Goodison Park an hour after Sunday's match.

The Senegalese international was seemingly involved in an altercation with the ball-boy during the first half.

Diouf then suffered abuse from home fans, and again when he went to take two corners in the area of the original incident.

A police spokesman said: "Merseyside Police are looking into an allegation that a 28-year-old man used racist language at the Everton match today."

The ball-boy lodged his complaint with his ground supervisor, who in turn told Everton officials, who then informed the police.

  1. I'm glad I left England, seems like there are a lot of right wing nazi attitudes at the moment!! And #61, what has alliances got to do with it? What alliances, alliances to white supremacists and nazi scumbag BNP supporters? If those are what you're talking about then my loyalties are certainly not with you!! All rascism is bad and to be honest don't use the white supremacist @#$% of oppressed white majority, it just isn't true.

  2. #62 What do you mean "what has his colour/origin got to do with it", this is a black person offending a white person using a racial term, that is why it is racist, plus one ballboy one linesman and one policeman is not one persons word against the other your alliance seem's to be biased why?.
On another note we say footballers are meant to be role models to our children, these were the cool kids at school, the not so bright, the ones who if they didn't make in football now work in unskilled jobs and drive R reg Vectra's, don't get me wrong I love football and there is no better feeling after singing myself horse and seeing your team win but I would never let my son reach that low as to have a footballer as a role model.

  4. Is it not amazing that an alleged case of racist remark brings out all the racist attitudes and gutter language to the fore?
If the player is guilty he should be punished, as we await the result of police investigation. What I don't get is all these white victim mentality in a case where it is still one person's word against the other. What's the player's colour or origin got to do with anything?

  7. No wonder this island is described as a cultural & European dustbin since the media long courted the politically correct way of doing things for about donkeys years, particularly the BBC.Listen or watch any race related crime bulletin over the last decade. When a white person or group verbally or physically attacks a person of different coloured skin, understandably it's a racial attack. But if it's reported in reverse,if at all reported sometimes. Then it's just a crime of violence. How convenient.Diouff will have his army of lawyers working on that one for sure.Still,Great Britain at it's best.

  10. You would think the police might have a bit more to do than investigate "racist remarks" as inappropriate as they might be.

  11. I am laughing so hard and this undiluted cr*p I nearlly p*ssed myself. Diouf would be a scumbag regardless of his colour. A passionate player, this one took me to the fair, playing ability the guy is medciore, personality low life gutter trash. This guy is well balanced he has a chip on both shoulders, I have seen the Sky footage and have not doubt he did what he is accused off. Why? The crowd reaction, there was a linesman and a cop close by who both reacted. Great to see our ethnic minorities sticking up for scumbag, great to know that the black population think racism is ok as long as the victim is white! Dear Ray had he called the kid a "Theiving Scouse Bindippingcunt" he would still be a racist scumbag as using the word Scouse indicates he is from Liverpool identifying he ethnicity. Its not as if Diouf hasnot got previous gobbing on a player and two fans resulting in a criminal conviction in Scotland.

    To Graham P:

Well maybe it is a "BIG" word that I mentioned to let a player do what a fan or fans do to them. Yes as I mentioned that players are professional and should tolerate more since they are all well paid. But like I said, they are human too and human has a limit.

Have we ask ourselves why fans must abuse a player??? Just because he rebelled and changed club? Cos he is a black? Cos what? Why can a fan just sit down and cheers for his team? And boo is ok too. But abuse????? Is it right???

If one says yes, it is right to abuse players, then I think we will soon be watching football of jungles instead on a football field.

    JMHO.
