Mark McGhee has insisted Sone Aluko's unauthorised trip to join Nigeria's Under-20 squad will not have a bearing on his future with Aberdeen.
The midfielder caused consternation in the Granite City by flying out to Spain for a training camp with the national side, before returning to Aberdeen on Friday night.
Aluko shrugged off the furore by producing a starring display in the win over St Mirren at the weekend and McGhee is keen to draw a line under the affair.
"It is not even an issue," said McGhee, who will lose Aluko to the Under-20 World Cup this week. "He worked hard in what was a difficult week for him.
"The real sickener is that we will be missing him for a few weeks because we know he is a match winner.
"One of the reasons why we played Davide Grassi on the left of midfield was to see if he could do a job for us there and I think we saw enough to say he can.
"Sone doesn't have to be as big a loss as he might have seemed, but he certainly will be missed."

Nigeria is still much in the game as they qualified to the next stage as one of the best 3rd place team
Thats not true Lawan. Niogeria is still much in the game as they qualified to the next stage as one of the best 3rd place team
It doesn't really matter now that Nigeria is out of the world cup, after loosing to Venezuela and Spain.
