Blackpool hero Charlie Adam revealed he climbed off his sick bed to fire the winning goal in Saturday's 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder consigned Forest to their third home defeat in four games after he recovered from an overnight illness to clinch the Seasiders' first away win with a superb left-foot strike.

The £500,000 club-record signing set off on a run from halfway before coolly slotting past keeper Lee Camp.

Adam, signed from Rangers in the summer, said: "I wasn't well Thursday or Friday.

"I was sick before kick-off then me and Alex Baptiste were suffering at half-time. I'm not sure how I saw out 90 minutes."
