Agger possible for Leeds clash

Daniel Agger could be included in Liverpool's squad for Tuesday's Carling Cup tie at Leeds.

The Danish international has been out all season following a back operation, but returned to full training last week.

Liverpool are expected to make several changes from the side that won 3-2 at West Ham on Saturday, with full-back Fabio Aurelio standing by for his first start of the season after a knee problem.

  1. Sure Carragher was bad at Upton Park, but so were a few­ other players. The problems looked to be caused by­ Johnson hurtling forward at every opportunity, leaving­ that flank exposed. Consequently, Hines was man of the­ match.
    I'd play Agger tonight though, purely from­ the viewpoint of getting him Match Fit. Same reason­ I'd play Aurelio. Insua deserves to be in the team­ on merit, he hasn't put a foot wrong so far this­ season

  2. Call your self liverpool fans, Carragher has a couple­ of bad games and your all against him. Think of what he­ has done for this club. I also believe Skrtel &­ Agger are the future but right now they don't have­ the experience of leading the back line. Either way­ Carra will be in the starting line up for this season,­ I hope theres some method in the fans madness, as i­ understand Torres took some stick recently and look­ what that did

Carragher may be off form at the moment guys but every­ player has a dip here and there, the defence will get­ solid again whether with or with out him. evry season­ we go through a spell of being a little leaking and­ every season it improves. We have 3 world class central­ defenders and we should be happy to change and have the­ same consistency which ever pair play.

  7. Wish Hyypiä still played for Liverpool, He was our best­ defender, better than Carragher imo... Best reader of­ the game, Still rate Carragher, but the Skrtel/Agger­ combo has to start this season, mainly in cup games...­ Just hope one of them learns 1st hand from Carragher­ how to command the box...

    PS... If Agger, Skrtel or­ Carragher played for Manure they'd be deemed world ­ class, but thank god they play for the Mighty Reds...

  10. get off carraghers back he may be not in form at the­ moment but he has been our best defender for years he­ may not be blessed with pace anymore but he reads the­ game better than almost all defenders he will be back­ on form in no time i really hope our new italian lad­ aquilani is up to filling alonso's boots
