Uruguay international Diego Arismendi will make his eagerly awaited Stoke debut when Tony Pulis fields his shadow squad for Tuesday's Carling Cup tie at home to Blackpool.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder, who has impressed in two reserve outings, has been given time to settle since a £2.75million move from Club Nacional just before the transfer deadline.
None of Stoke's starting line-up from Saturday's draw at Bolton are likely to feature, but the fit again James Beattie, Tuncay, Liam Lawrence and Andy Wilkinson could be included.

i have to agree with you ijrutter, as far as i am concerned we should (if they are fit) play Beattie, lawrence, whelan, tuncay and fuller from the start of the match. We actually have players who can play football now, so let them bloody play !!.
i quite rate Etherington, but it is diificult to see how he could start every week with delap and possibly whitehead playing.
So, Pulis thinks Beattie, Tuncay & Lawrence are 'shadow squad' players fit for cup games against lower league opposition whilst Whitehead, Delap and Etherington are worth saving for Man Utd on Saturday. Jesus wept, Tone...
