New Northampton goalkeeper Simon Brown believes the Cobblers will climb the League Two table once a permanent manager is in place.
Caretaker manager Ian Sampson lost his second game in a row at the weekend as Rochdale ran out 2-1 winners at Sixfields.
The result left the Cobblers in 21st place in League Two - their lowest position for over 10 years - but Brown believes they have what it takes to turn it around.
He said : "We're in transition, and so there's not much stability at the club.
"It's a recipe for jittery performance. But there's some talented players here, and I don't think we'll be in this position for very long."
