Bruce hands starts to newcomers

Mon, 21 Sep 11:54:33 2009

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce will hand summer signings John Mensah and Paulo da Silva their first home starts in Tuesday night's Carling Cup third round clash with Birmingham.

Ghana international Mensah made his debut as a substitute in the 4-1 Barclays Premier League victory over Hull on September 12, while Paraguay skipper da Silva started the 4-1 win at Norwich in the second round.

However, midfielder Lee Cattermole, who missed Saturday's defeat at Burnley with a heel problem, remains a doubt, while keeper Marton Fulop (also heel) is still out.

Okay I will not swot any more bees and let them live a happy buzzing life.

I am so pleased that someone from your neck of the woods has also thought exactly the same as me regarding T Knobhead.
Again you are so wrong knobhead, Ian and I are definately not he same person, but he seems very reasonable and has some modicum of common sense and what he says makes absolute sense to me and lots of other posters on here as well.
A good workman like performance tonight, with two good debut goals for Henderson and Campbell. defensively we were greatly impproved with Mensah and Da Silva and No hands Gordon actually grew a pair of hands and caught a few crosses.

Aye Ian, he's a reet trouble maker that Tony K, apparantly all the trouble at Newcastle central after the Hearts friendly was caused by him as well, he was seen with 4 cans of Shandy in one hand, deeing breeze block chopping and Karate kicks with the other, whilst telling all us Mackems to all **** off ower on the next platform. He did get arrested by the Northumbrian police and was thrown in a cell to sober up before they inerviewed him, only to be released with no charge, because he was still pished at the 36 hour holding maximum.

watch him fella he's a reet wrangen that one!

An interesting theory my friend, I wonder if we could get doughnut and Ian to post an insult my way at exactly the same time? Say 20.00 hours this evening. If they both call me a bell end at the same time then we are barking up the wrong tree, but if there is a minute or two between then you have blown doughnuts cover.

    Ian, doughnut.............synchronise watches...

i once looked at a comment from some guy wanting to kill you, sending you his address to visit, did you have the balls to go, i am a true Newcastle fan, and never post comments on these sites i read them but dont see the point of getting involved, but in my heart as a true northeast guy, who lives football, you are a perthetic person bringing down the name of NUFC....................... As far as i can see your comments need to be posted on our site for us to read not the Sunderland fans, you just cause problem after problem, lets hope the Sunderland fans, dont think all us true fans, are like you. PERTHETIC

  10. Gordon was let down by his defence again - particularly by Anton, who is apparently as bad a defender as Rio. It seems that we're back on the see-saw, performance-wise. We play like the world's greatest gift to football one game and are rubbish in the next. This is something that SB and his assistant EB have to work on, and I'm sure they will sort things out.
Don't let's forget that we are well ahead of our league position as at this time last season, and that's something for all supporters to be pleased about.

  14. MALCOLM D, If you get beat off Birmingham, you could always blame wor Brucie for throwing the game because he used to manage them, you know, like you did against Chopra.

Please stop using the word FACT. Posting FACTS on yahoo sites is my duty and my right. Even the mackems on here rely on my FACTS and have done for a long time now. For the record no one uses me as a punch bag, I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee......FACT.

I think we may have a hard game Against Birmingham and until the defence gets some confidence behind them, they could continue to struggle.
Thats why I am pleased that Mensah and Da SIlva are being given a dhance to proove themselves as Ferdinand has not convince many safc fans.
