Clark - We missed duo

Mon, 21 Sep 14:52:16 2009

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark has admitted his side missed absent pair Antony Kay and Theo Robinson in the defeat at Millwall.

Midfielder Kay was taken ill and seven-goal Robinson missed out due to an ankle injury as Clark's side turned in their worst display of the season in a 3-1 defeat at the New Den.

Clark said: "Robbie Simpson deserved his chance and we had to try and balance the midfield due to Antony Kay's illness. I've said all along that I have a good squad, but the lads who have come into the side haven't performed.

"But you could argue that the rest of the team haven't helped them. On this performance it would be safe to say that we missed what the two lads who are back home with injury and illness give us.

"I believe in the players that were brought in, but they were part of a team performance that wasn't good enough."
