Wasps director of rugby Tony Hanks has backed Dominic Waldouck to replace injured centre Riki Flutey in the England team.
Waldouck was pressed into action in the less familiar role of inside centre against Worcester on Sunday, and he responded with a man-of-the-match performance in Wasps' 23-3 victory.
"Dominic was probably one of the key performers for Wasps last year, for the England Saxons in the summer and he showed his quality against Worcester in a position he doesn't usually play and on his first hit-out of the season," said Hanks. "He has got the skill-set and I would love to see him playing for England."
Wasps are traditionally slow starters but they sit top of the Premiership table on points difference from Saracens after three consecutive victories.
Worcester boss Mike Ruddock, meanwhile, was frustrated not to leave with a bonus point but recognised his side had not created enough to threaten Wasps.
"We are a difficult team to beat but we weren't accurate in our attacking game," said Ruddock.
"We recognised we weren't playing as well as we should have done to get a victory but we battled hard to get a bonus point, so that breakaway try at the end was a bit of a killer for us.
"But there is no doubt Wasps were the better team."
