Injury worry for Chesterfield duo

Mon, 21 Sep 16:25:51 2009

Chesterfield have a couple of early injury concerns ahead of the weekend trip to Bradford.

Top scorer Jamie Lowry, who netted his sixth goal of the season in the 4-1 defeat of Macclesfield on Saturday, is nursing a hamstring problem and full-back Phil Picken suffered a rib injury in that game.

"Being 4-0 up at the break, we gave Jamie the opportunity to come off at half-time while Phil got a bang that was uncomfortable for him," said Spireites boss John Sheridan.

Forward Drew Talbot missed the Macclesfield match through illness but is expected to be back in contention for the trip to west Yorkshire.

Sheridan added: "Drew's got a flu virus but he will train and be back fit and ready for the weekend."
