Greenock Morton have confirmed they have parted company with manager Davie Irons.
Irons was sacked with the club bottom of the Irn-Bru First Division after losing five of their opening six games.
Former Dunfermline and St Johnstone boss Irons took over at Cappielow after leaving doomed Gretna in February 2008.
He helped rescue Morton from relegation and led them to a mid-table finish last term.
But Saturday's 3-0 loss at Raith Rovers was considered one defeat too many.
