Oldham boss Dave Penney admits his players have given him a welcome selection dilemma ahead of this weekend's trip to League One rivals Southend.

The Latics had not tasted victory at Boundary Park since Valentine's Day but their agony ended at the 12th attempt on Saturday as Carlisle were dispatched 2-0.

Penney said: "We have a lot of injuries but the players who came in have given me plenty to think about.

"It was a relief to get rid of that stigma, even though most of us came to the club a while after the run had started."
