No rest for fit Blues stars

Birmingham manager Alex McLeish does not have the option of resting players ahead of Tuesday night's Carling Cup third-round trip to Sunderland with his squad ravaged by injury.

Wide man Sebastian Larsson (hamstring) is a recent addition to the injury list, while full-back Stephen Carr has suffered a recurrence of his thigh problem.

James McFadden (thigh), Cameron Jerome (ankle), Franck Queudrue, Gregory Vignal, Marcus Bent (all hamstring), Martin Taylor (ankle), Lee Carsley (back), Damien Johnson (strain) and David Murphy (knee) all remain unavailable.

Liam Ridgewell is expected to return at left-back having made a quick recovery from a broken leg, while there may be a debut for Giovanny Espinoza.

Where in my post did i say Birmingham were nothing more than a bunch a reasoable grafters and not capable of playing any decent football????? I said exactly the opposite of what you stated by saying I thought they would give us a hard game and we would have to be focussed to beat them. You are so bitter and twisted you cant read or comprehend what people are posting.

Anyway, we did beat them and we are still in the cup-------are your team????? i dont think so and thats a FACT. As for my Massive ego ------well thats amazing coming from you who are such an expert in all you profess to do Ahso, konitchiwa, twi kon doh, kung fu , hong kong fuey !!!!!!

  5. John C i seem to be from people from your neck of the woods as irony is hard for some to detect and then they take it to become personal and dont like it when rebuked, but the more you post on here the more i believe you are a closet mackem really???

MALCOLM D(oughnut) is a mackem and it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to communicate with the guy. He thinks he knows it all and has a gargantuan ego. He also has a problem with cider. Even his fellow mackems rate his remarks down and think he is a smug know it all. Note that in his first sentence(comment 3) he makes this out to be YOUR problem, suggesting you have either misread or misunderstood him, even though he has clearly stated that your team are nothing more than a bunch of grafters incapable of playing decent football.I would advise you not to bother with doughnut. COME ON BIRMINGHAM!!!!

Were you watching a different game on Saturday?
Or are you a Sunderland fan?
We beat Hull and although it was only 1-0 the result could have been different.
If it wasn't for an excellent display by their 'keeper Boaz Myhill a score of 4 or 5 nil would have still flattered the Tigers.
A good all round and proffesional display by the side that was picked.
Why do people always seem to find negatives even after a solid team performance?
Chucho (Christian Benitez) could be the bargain of the season.

  10. There should be no rest for our team either and after the display some of them put on during Saturdays game they should be in for extra training.
After seeing the way Birmingham played at the weekend , we again could be in for a hard fought game, and to avoid a similar display the team must be focussed and conentrate on what they are supposed to be doing instaed of day dreaming and flying into un necessary tackles.
