Turner to tinker with side

Hartlepool director of sport Chris Turner has hinted he will make changes to his side in a bid to reverse their indifferent form.

Pools lost their unbeaten away record on Saturday with a 2-0 defeat at Colchester and they lie in 18th position with eight points from their opening eight games.

Turner has named the same side for the last three games but looks set to give his fringe players a chance to impress as they search for a first home win of the season.

"There'll be changes next Saturday I would think," he told the Northern Echo. "I've got a good squad of players and I've got players who are wanting to be in the team and think they should be in the team.

"When we've gone away from home and not conceded a goal why fix something that's not broke. It broke on Saturday and we've got to have the emphasis on the attack at home.

"I think the players have had a good run in the team. Some players will now come in on Saturday and it's up to them to keep the shirt."
