The 23-year-old, who won a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics, has signed a one-year contract.

"Roger Kluge is a tall, very athletic cyclist", said Milram team manager Gerry van Gerwen

"With his charisma and his potential he will be able to gain a lot of respect within the peloton, similar for example to Christian Knees. With his qualities as a cyclist he will be especially helpful for Gerald Ciolek in the sprint preparation between 800 and 500 metres."

Most of Kluge's success has come on the track, including his silver medal which came in the track points race in last year's Olympics. In 2007 he became joint Madison European Champion with partner Robert Bartko.

In addition to Kluge's signing, Milram also extended Artur Gajek's contract for another year.

"Artur has shown hints of his potential plenty of times, and it is only a matter of time until he will learn to fulfill it", said van Germen.

"At 24, he is one of our young cyclists who will still develop. For that he will need time, which we will give him."
