Green played seven NFL seasons with the Packers from 2000 to 2006 before moving to Houston but he was currently without a team.

The move allows Green a chance to become the franchise's all-time leading rusher as he needs 46 yards to surpass Jim Taylor's record of 8,207 yards.

The Packers said Wynn had been placed on injured reserve.
