SPL - Edu makes race abuse claim

Maurice Edu has claimed he was racially abused by Rangers fans after the Champions League thrashing by Unirea Urziceni.

United States midfielder Edu, 23, played no part in the 4-1 Group G defeat but watched the match at Ibrox and says he was targeted by his own club's supporters as he left the stadium.

Edu wrote on his Twitter feed: "Not sure what hurt more: result last nite or being racially abused by couple of r own fans as I'm getting in my car ... smh (shaking my head) ... off to rehab."

The Rangers Supporters Trust condemned anyone who might have abused Edu, who has been out all season with a knee injury.

RST spokesman David Edgar told Press Association Sport: "We would absolutely condemn that if that's the case.

"These are not Rangers fans and they should be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

  15. I doubt its just rangers but probably the majority of­ Scotland is racist, maybe all non white players who­ play in Scotland should move out of the SPL and then­ lets see what happens. I doubt Sky would pay more than­ 1m for the rights to SPL. But I guess a country raised­ by alcoholics wont change any time soon.

    I don't recall Mark Walters (in all the years he­ was with Rangers), complaining of racial abuse from­ Rangers fans. I do know, however, that he suffered­ racial abuse from the knuckle-dragging scum at celtic­ park.
