2007 may barely be over, but F1 2008 is just around the corner as first car launch date announced.

BMW-Sauber has won the race to become the first team to announce the launch date of its 2008 car, with a 'home' presentation in Germany.

Following on from a hugely successful 2007 - when the Hinwil and Munich-based outfit finished second in the constructors' championship with 101 points, and drivers Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica took fifth and sixth spots in the drivers' title chase respectively - BMW will return to familiar territory for the unveiling of its F1.08 challenger as it reveals its new baby to the world in Munich on 14 January.

The presentation will be held at BMW Welt - BMW's new vehicle delivery centre - in the immediate vicinity of the BMW Tower and Olympiapark, and will be attended by Heidfeld and Kubica, as well as BMW Motorsport Director Dr Mario Theissen, technical director Willy Rampf and team advisor Peter Sauber.

The roll-out for the car will take place on 15 January at Valencia in Spain - scene of the squad's 2007 launch.
