Ecclestone open to Canadian GP return

Bernie Ecclestone has said the door is open to reinstating the Canadian Grand Prix.

The F1 chief executive went on Montreal radio to address local anger about the axe of the annual race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

When negotiations recently broke down, organisers slammed Ecclestone's demands as 'unreasonable'.

"Unreasonable compared to what?" the 78-year-old billionaire said.

"We do business worldwide and nobody else thinks we're unreasonable. We've got a queue of people that want races. So we can't be unreasonable."

Ecclestone is maintaining his stance with regards to the current negotiations, but said he was keen to return to Canada in the future.

"Everyone in Formula One loves Montreal," he insisted.

When asked if he would like Montreal to return to the calendar, he added: "Of course we would - we didn't want to lose it."

"I said (to organisers) you can come to my office, pull any contract out of that drawer for all the overseas races, take any one of them, cross out the name and put your name, and that's what we'll do.

"Because what was offered them was less than we get anywhere else in the world," he explained.

Ecclestone said he did not appreciate how the frustrated organisers leaked the financial details of his proposal to the media, but refused to enter a war of words, describing the tone of the failed talks as "Good, nice, beautiful."

  7. Please feel free to quote my deductions at will in future posts. I'm sure it will hit a raw nerve with this particular losing sneak, who is for some reason ashamed of his own nationality.

  8. I can probably shed a little light on the unfortunate identity of Marnio from peru; he gave the game away with his colloquial knowledge of household cleaning products as well as many other patterns. I don’t wish to offend anyone but I’m afraid at the end it doesn’t paint a very pretty picture.

Using my Lt Columbo school of deduction logic, his colloquial knowledge of British household cleaning products firstly indicates he is either a Brit or Irish, this means also that he was probably born late 60’s early to mid seventies. Scary eh!

However his general disrespect of Jackie Stewart and Jim Clark as well as Hill, Mansell and Hamilton, almost certainly eliminates either Scottish or English. So we are looking at either an early to mid thirty year old welsh man or an Irishman.

Now the plot thickens, his apparent knowledge and appreciation of De Lorien as well as his obsession with Schumacher and Ferrari I think in this case, points to the Republic of Ireland, the only link or sense of history this man probably has is Eddie Irvine driving for Ferrari and Eddie Jordan once employing Michael Schumacher.

So there you have it, a thirty something Irishman, nothing to do with either Italy or Ferrari, hiding behind his own comedy construct, with no real sense or appreciation of F1 history, clinging on to hopes of Irvine nearly winning for Ferrari once and old memories of the Jordan team sold out for a fiver. Seemingly ashamed of his true identity, nationality and lack of a real claim to F1 history but is clearly bitterly upset at the Victories of the other home nations.

Hiding behind a lame @#$% Peruvian comedy construct, an attempt at some weak rip off of Borat, ashamedly hiding behind this construct as a way of exercising his own personal frustrations, envy and bitterness toward the home nations success in F1. Far too defensive and sneaky to be funny, it is much funnier though if you look at what he is hoping to achieve and then imagine the real person.
