Newcastle's on-loan Manchester United defender Danny Simpson is keen to make his stay on Tyneside permanent.
Simpson has impressed during his time at St James' Park and Newcastle are reportedly making tentative enquiries about keeping the 22-year-old.
With his deal set to expire on January 2, Simpson admits he has no idea what will happen in the new year.
"No-one has said anything to me about January yet," he said. "I'm still waiting. I still don't know what the situation is but all I can do is keep playing well, keep performing and do my best for Newcastle.
"I just have to let my agent, the business people at Newcastle and everyone else settle that. I don't want to get caught up in that really, my focus has to be on training well and playing well.
"I have settled really, really well. Newcastle feels like home I feel like I'm part of it here. The longer my loan spell goes on, the more I like it here."
