First-team coach Steve Holland admits Crewe have been frustrated in their bid to bring Steve Jones back to Gretsy Road on loan.The Burnley forward picked up a knee injury during the weekend win over Coventry and with Andy Gray having recently joined Charlton, Clarets boss Owen Coyle is thought to be keen to add to his own options before letting any more strikers leave Turf Moor.

Holland told the club's official website: "We tried to bring Steve in last week but that didn't prove successful and he was in Burnley's squad on Saturday.

"He got on towards the end and we have had reports that he picked up a knee injury. We do not know the full extent of that but that would scupper any possible deal at the moment."
