Rotherham's board of directors have thanked Millers fans for giving the club's bid for a new stadium a "huge push in the right direction".The board's thank you comes following Rotherham fans' vocal support for the new stadium bid against Wycombe.

Wanderers' visit to Millmoor was designated as 'United Rotherham Day' with the club offering discounted tickets in a bid to fill the ground and persuade the council that every effort must be made to help build a new stadium.

A season-best crowd of 6,709 watched the 1-1 draw and a statement on the club's official website read: "We have one aim and that is to move yours and our club forward.

"Our goal is clear - we need a new stadium and you have just given us a huge push in the right direction.

"Millmoor was a very special place to be on Saturday and the board would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who turned out to support the club on the day.

"We asked our supporters to help us, and they did. It will help financially and it will help us promote the club at investment meetings in the future."
