Boxing promoter Dennis Hobson has accused Sheffield Wednesday's board of misleading fans after they snubbed his latest attempt to invest.Hobson, former promoter to Ricky Hatton and who still manages world boxing champion Clinton Woods, has offered the cash-strapped Owls £250,000 for new players in return for a seat on the Owls' depleted board.
But his desperate bid to boost Brian Laws' wafer-thin squad during the transfer window - the club is still around £27million in debt - has again been rejected and Hobson has demanded the board tell supporters why.
Hobson said: "I hope they genuinely do have good reason.
"This time last year the board turned aside our underwriting offer to raise £1million stating they were "working on a much more beneficial financial package which will come to fruition during the early part of 2007".
"We all know what happened - or rather didn't happen - to that."
