Real Madrid and Inter target Ricardo Quaresma has signed a contract extension at Porto that will keep him at the SuperLiga club until 2011.The deal follows the midfielder's declaration last week that he was interested in playing abroad again, having spent the 2003/04 season with Barcelona.
Relations between Quaresma and the Porto fans had been at breaking point after he was booed in recent games, leading the player to declare: "When the season is over, there will be no more reasons to whistle."
However, after putting pen to paper on his new deal Quaresma told the club's official website: "I am happy with my contract extension. It shows the affection between both parties."
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid or Internazionale but admitted that he wants to achieve success at Porto.
Quaresma said: "This contract extension happened because the club chairman and everyone at the club realised that I could renew my contract and I am happy with it.
"I have always intended to help the club and team to win titles.
"Everyone knows that Porto taught me so many things. I love Porto and I am happy to stay at Porto and be involved in the important times for the club.
"This was the main reason that made me renew the contract until 2011."
