Ipswich boss Jim Magilton should on Wednesday wrap up the permanent signing of Sheffield United midfielder Alan Quinn for around £400,000.The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international will be confirmed as a Town player subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
Town had initially signed Quinn on an emergency loan deal on Saturday after Magilton had been alerted to the midfielder's availability.
Quinn began his career with Sheffield Wednesday where he made over 150 appearances and had a spell on loan with Sunderland before arriving at Bramall Lane in 2004 where he established himself as a first-team regular.
However, the Irishman has only made four starts in the Championship this season for the underachieving Blades.
