Kevin Watson could return to the Colchester squad for next week's trip to Barnsley after coming through the reserves' draw with Norwich.The experienced midfielder has been out of action since December due to a calf injury, but he got 65 minutes under his belt to prove his fitness to boss Geraint Williams.

Skipper Karl Duguid, who was recently dropped for the trip to Bristol City, and ex-England striker Teddy Sheringham were also given run-outs along with young forward Jamie Guy, who hit the net in a 1-1 draw.
