Arscott Pens New Bristol Deal

Tue 22 Jan, 12:52 AM

Bristol Rugby full back Luke Arscott has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

Luke joined Bristol from Plymouth Albion in the summer of 2006 and was joined at the club by younger brother Tom a year later.

After a knee injury disrupted his early progress, he made the number 15 shirt his own in the latter part of the 2006-7 season and has made eleven starts, scoring three tries, so far this season.

He said: "I'm very happy. It's a real weight off my mind and I can concentrate on playing now. There's a good bunch of boys here and it's a great place to live.

"I got off to a slower start than I would have wanted when I first joined the club but I've had a run in the side recently which has helped me and I think has helped the team as well.

"Now I want to play my part in taking the club forward and, if possible, further my own international claims."

Head Coach Richard Hill was delighted to keep hold of Arscott.

He said: "Luke is an outstanding young player with great potential. He has natural flair which is exciting to watch and as he gains further 1st XV experience, I am sure he will develop into a very fine full back for Bristol."
