Torino coach Walter Novellino is hoping the club can sign Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi in the January transfer window.
Bianchi joined City from Reggina for £8.8million at the start of the season but has reportedly failed to settle in England.
Novellino believes the 24-year-old would be an ideal acquisition as Toro continue their fight against relegation - they currently lie 16th in the Serie A standings, only out of the bottom three on goal difference.
He said: "We are struggling in attack and I know our club president (Urbano Cairo) is working very hard to try to bring a great striker like Bianchi to Toro."
Torino are not the only Italian club in the hunt for Bianchi, however, as Lazio have also expressed an interest.
