Ever since news of the Italian takeover at QPR first broke, speculation has been rife as to which great names would be coming to Loftus Road.
Fans couldn't help but wonder if they were about to witness a revolution at the club similar to that which brought Zola and Vialli to Chelsea in the mid 90s, but so far they've been treated to the likes of Damien Delaney and Hogan Ephraim. Even the capture of Toto Schillaci looked too ambitious for them.
But it seems that now the 'Richest Club in the World' are finally bringing in the first of many Serie A legends in the shape of Genoa's Marco Di Vaio.
The 31-year-old may not be the most glamorous of names, and he currently plies in Serie B. However, he has notched up well over 100 top flight goals for the likes of Juventus, Valencia and Monaco, as well as representing the Azzurri 14 times, so the veteran could make a real contribution to the resurgent Rs should he sign.
Shaun Derry could soon be making his loan move to Crystal Palace permanent. The Leeds midfielder has the quite normal, and in no way worrying, pre-match ritual of making himself vomit before every match. Perhaps that's why manager Neil Warnock is so keen to keep him at the club. He has not featured for the League One side this season, but that hasn't stopped him making 12 appearances since he returned to former club Palace last November.
The day's big money is likely to be spent by Watford, who hope to take on Birmingham City left back Matthew Sadler for £1 million.
Plymouth will have to spend considerably less to sign midfielder Jamie Mackie from neighbours Exeter, with £150,000 enough to do the trick.
Blackpool goalkeeper Rhys Evans has ignored all this speculation and posturing and has gone right ahead and signed for Millwall on a free transfer.
