Robinson angry at England arrogance

Scotland coach Andy Robinson has labelled some of England's behaviour at last year's World Cup as "arrogant".

The red rose suffered a disastrous tournament on and off the field in New Zealand, with a number poor performances and disciplinary incidents sparking a radical overhaul at Twickenham. England sent Scotland home by beating them in their final group game, but Robinson does not believe they handled their success in the right way.

He told the Mail on Sunday: "It's important for any team to show humility, especially when you are winning. I thought a number of England players undermined this in the arrogance they showed."

He added: "They know who they are and it was not across the board, but unfortunately the whole squad got tarnished.

"You need self-belief in players, of course, but you also need to possess some humility, and a number of players overstepped the mark."

Changes have been made at both playing and boardroom levels at Twickenham, with ex-boss Robinson's former player Martin Johnson, who presided over the campaign as coach, one of those to move on.

  4. Robinson should keep his mouth shut, what was he actually saying!! what is his ulterior motive was he proving his allegiance to Scotland he's joined the ever growing band band saying the English are arrogant what gives him and all the rest the right. No other country is arrogant what a load of F------------ nonsense.

My advise to Robinson is stop acting and strutting like Mussolini and keep your opinions to yourself

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Andy Robinson isn't scottish, he's English.

Therefore your comment about "Scots bleating" is as pointless as Russ'.

Personally, I think Robinson's just playing mindgames ahead of the 6N, but as a Scot, I'd rather he kept his mouth shut about his opinions on England. I don't think it's noble, and could do more harm than good.

If this 6N is as bad as the last few then he'll be out of a job anyway.
Hopefully we can steal Nick Mallett from under English noses.

  8. He's just trying to spice things up before Eng - Scot 6nations. Will see if he eats his words after an english whooping!! Everyone on else has tried to put it behind them and move on with new coaches, new ethos, players......

  9. When you are the head coach of 1 country why comment about another nations team off the field activities?

There are lots of words i (& most England supporters) would use to describe certian members of the squad but arrogant isnt one of them.

I await Robinsons verdict on other nations players ill judged moments.
