Ryan Giggs returns to domestic duty with Manchester United on Saturday, buoyant after their late, late show in the Champions League. The Welsh winger was pleased that his 100th appearance in the competition was marked by an equaliser from substitute Carlos Tevez three minutes from time.
The resulting 1-1 draw means United have the edge going into the second leg against Lyon at Old Trafford on March 4.
They are also still on course for the treble, with Kevin Keegan's Newcastle next up in the Premier League at St James's Park on Saturday.
The worry for Keegan must surely be that United emphasised in France a never-say-die spirit on foreign soil.
Giggs said: "It is always important to get away goals in the Champions League, so we have to be pleased.
"Lyon are a good team and they set their stall out to catch us on the counter - and it nearly worked for them.
"I was pleased to get to the 100th Champions League milestone. To play that many is something special."
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson may be tempted to freshen things up after the game in France.
Tevez and Nani are pushing for places in the starting line-up, after turning the game when they stepped off the bench.
Michael Carrick, Louis Saha and Darren Fletcher will also be looking to return to the starting line-up.
Fletcher hoped his two goals in the FA Cup victory against Arsenal might have been rewarded with a start in France - but instead he was left on the bench.
However, he is determined to continue to work hard in training.
"I hope I will get a few more starts before the end of the season," said the Scotland midfielder.
"Everyone wants to play. You keep yourself fit and you train hard - and when your chances come you've got to be ready to take them."
