Youga banned for seaside visit

Fri 22 Feb, 11:30 AM

Charlton must cope with a number of absentees as they seek to return to winning ways away at Blackpool on Saturday.Central African Republic defender Kelly Youga will serve a one-match ban after being booked for the fifth time this season in the draw at Sheffield Wednesday so Sam Sodje could make his first start since being sent off against Norwich on Boxing Day.

Madjid Bougherra (foot) is unlikely to make it in time, so Jonathan Fortune will retain his place in defence.

Strikers Svetoslav Todorov and Chris Dickson (both knee) and defender Cory Gibbs (foot) are all long-term absentees.

Jerome Thomas appeared as a substitute in the 2-2 draw with Watford and will push for a start following his hamstring injury.

Thomas' possible return means fellow winger Lee Cook may have to wait for his first Charlton start since joining on loan from Fulham.
