Leeds moved to within two points of the play-offs after Jermaine Beckford fired them to a deserved 2-0 win over Walsall at Elland Road.Beckford notched his first goal in five games and 18th of the season from a tight angle in the 29th minute as Leeds claimed only their second victory in seven games at home in League One.
Veteran striker Tommy Mooney wasted a glorious opportunity to equalise for Walsall when he blasted over the crossbar in the 58th minute from close range.
Beckford sealed the points with 10 minutes left when he latched onto Neil Kilkenny's precise pass to clip the ball over Walsall goalkeeper Clayton Ince, who had produced a series of fine saves.
