Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander acknowledged that his side were second best in their 2-0 defeat at Stockport in League Two on Friday night. After seeing his side go down to a Jason Taylor brace at Edgeley Park, the Silkmen boss quickly turned his attention to Monday's visit of Barnet to Moss Rose before scorning his side's lacklustre defending.
Alexander said: "We were up against a very good team there.
"We tried to battle, but on the day they were better than us and I don't mind admitting that.
"It's a disappointing result for us of course, but we've got to pick ourselves up for Monday now.
"We always knew the Barnet game on Monday would be a big one, but again looking back at this game, we gave away two bad goals which is disappointing."
