Paul Robinson has replaced the injured Scott Carson in an England squad trimmed to 23 players for Wednesday's friendly against France in Paris.Robinson has been recalled just a month after he could not get into the Tottenham team.
The 28-year-old was dropped by Spurs head coach Juande Ramos in January after a series of errors but returned to the starting line-up and helped win the Carling Cup.
He has since kept his place in Ramos' side and England boss Fabio Capello was at White Hart Lane on Saturday where the goalkeeper pulled off a stunning save to deny Portsmouth's Sean Davis.
Carson's Aston Villa club colleagues Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young have also been omitted from the final 23-man party, along with Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham) and Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea) - who both scored in Capello's first game, the 2-1 win over Switzerland at Wembley last month - David Wheater (Middlesbrough) and Jermain Defoe (Portsmouth).
Jenas was not in Spurs' matchday squad to face Pompey, whose striker Defoe was also left out despite six goals in six games since moving from north London, while Liverpool's Peter Crouch remained in the squad.
Like Carson, West Ham's Matthew Upson has also been ruled out through injury.
David Beckham remained in the 23-man squad, meaning the midfielder will win his 100th cap if Capello uses him at the Stade de France this week.
Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland picked up a back injury after four minutes of his side's defeat at Blackburn but is expected to join up with the squad on Sunday evening.
Rio Ferdinand was also included despite also struggling with a back complaint.
Glen Johnson and Stewart Downing missed the cut last time but they were not on the names omitted on this occasion.
Up to 12 players could feature on 'Grand Slam Sunday' when the top four of the Premier League face each other.
Capello will be at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea against Arsenal, and general manager Franco Baldini will be at Manchester United for the clash against Liverpool.
