Bury dented Hereford's promotion challenge with a determined performance to earn a 0-0 draw at Edgar Street on Saturday afternoon.Goalkeeper Darren Randolph was Bury's hero as he made several fine saves to deny Gary Hooper, Theo Robinson and Toumani Diagouraga in the second half.
Bury's leading marksman Andy Bishop failed to find the target from 20 yards when the ball was teed up by Glynn Hurst with only Hereford goalkeeper Wayne Brown to beat.
Four minutes before the break Hereford skipper Ben Smith raced passed the Bury rearguard but Randolph made a good diving save to keep the scores level.
Early in the second period Nicky Adams cut in from the left but his shot was easily dealt with by Brown before Hooper drilled a shot against the crossbar and from the rebound his effort was brilliantly saved.
Randolph then twice came to Bury's rescue when he stopped Robinson's sharp shot while David Buchanan stopped a header from the striker on the line.
