1657: Away from the Premier League and Rangers have extended their lead at the top of the SPL to six points thanks to a 2-1 win over third-placed Hibs. A dramatic day in the Championship has so far seen only Hull take three points from the sides which started the day in the top six. However leaders Stoke are still in action against Blackpool in a game which was delayed by half an hour. That's currently 1-1.
1656: The final whistle goes at Ewood Park and Blackburn have beaten Wigan 3-1 in a match which saw both sides reduced to 10 men. Today's results mean Wigan have been dragged back into the relegation battle.
1654: Middlesbrough have claimed an unimpressive 1-0 win over basement side Derby which means the only game yet to finish in the top flight is Blackburn v Wigan which Rovers lead 3-1.

1652: The final whistle has gone at St James' Park and the Toon Army can finally celebrate a win this season under Kevin Keegan - Newcastle have beaten Fulham 2-0.
1651: It's all over at the Reebok and Bolton have had to settle for a goalless draw with Manchester City. Kevin Davies had a glorious late chance to win it for the Trotters and they could rue that miss as some of their relegation rivals have picked up crucial wins today.

1642: Newcastle are going to notch their first win since Kevin Keegan's return as they've just gone 2-0 up in their relegation six-pointer with Fulham, Michael Owen glancing home from a Geremi free-kick to send St James' Park crazy.

problem in midweek, while Jean-Claude Darcheville has recovered from a groin injury. Also drafted back into the team are David Weir, Sasa Papac and Lee McCulloch
after being rested for the cup clash. That means Steven Whittaker, Steven

Hibs make two changes following last week's win over Kilmarnock. In come Ian

Park for defender Aaron Hughes. There is also a start for Jimmy Bullard, who suffered an horrendous knee injury on Tyneside on September 9, 2006 in a game which marks the Londoners'
