The Seattle Seahawks have signed Pro Bowl linebacker Lofa Tatupu to a contract extension through to the 2015 season.

The deal added six years to the remaining two years of Tatupu's original contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Tatupu, a second-round selection out of USC and the 45th player taken overall in the 2005 NFL Draft, was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons and led the team in tackles in each campaign.

The 25-year-old has started all 48 regular season games during his career and has 337 tackles, 6.5 sacks, eight interceptions -- returning one for a touchdown -- and five forced fumbles to his credit.
