Bradford City's joint-chairman Mark Lawn is "genuinely optimistic" the Bantams will make some quality signings this summer.City have failed to mount a promotion challenge this season under manager Stuart McCall, who had little time to draft in new recruits when he took on the job at the end of May.
Lawn told the club's official website: "Everybody has been frustrated by this season.
"I'm a fan myself and, trust me, I've been frustrated with the amount of money I've put in.
"But Stuart (McCall) has been on a learning curve and I think that he's done very well since January.
"We are talking now, and have been for some weeks, about how we will strengthen the squad and I'm genuinely optimistic for next time."
