Sam suffers injury setback

Tue 22 Apr, 03:41 PM

Charlton winger Lloyd Sam could miss the remainder of the season after suffering a recurrence of his hamstring injury playing for the reserves. The 23-year-old was closing in on a return to the first team after six weeks out, having built up his fitness with a couple of run-outs for the second string.

However, having opened the scoring, he limped out of the reserves' 3-1 win over Leyton Orient after just 30 minutes and will now be a major doubt for the rest of the campaign.

Grant Basey and Ben Godfrey were also on target for the Addicks, scoring past Charlton rookie Joe Woolley, who is on trial with Orient.
