Sheffield Wednesday striker Akpo Sodje has revealed his frustration at watching his side's relegation fight from the sidelines. The 28-year-old, who scored six goals in his last 10 matches for the Owls before undergoing an ankle operation in late January, hopes to rejoin the squad for the first day of pre-season training in July.
Sodje told the club's official website: "The frustration hasn't been nice because I haven't been able to do anything to help the lads.
"I get too emotional at times watching the games. They're my team-mates and friends, we work together day in, day out but I can't contribute right now.
"I'll be there at Leicester. It's a massive game and I wish I could be out there on the pitch helping the team and the fans.
"Everyone has been so good to me at Sheffield Wednesday and I hope we can get the two wins we need to stay in the Championship next season, when we can start all over again."
