Nashville Predators coach Barry Trotz has signed a contract extension despite the team making a first-round Stanley Cup playoff exit for the fourth consecutive season.

Details of the extension were not announced.

The only head coach the franchise has ever known, Trotz has been behind the bench for all 738 regular-season games (324-308-106) since the Predators came into the league 10 years ago.
