Uruguay striker Diego Forlan is in doubt ahead of the friendlies against Turkey and Norway as he has suffered a throat problem.The sporting director of the national team, Eduardo Belza, commented that the Atletico Madrid forward is not expected to join the Charruas in Germany until Friday.

"He has throat problem, no fever at this moment, but we'll wait until tomorrow," Belza told El Observador newspaper.

"We cannot say he has been released yet. It depends on his progress."

Uruguay, who are training in Dortmund, play Turkey on May 25 in Bochum and then are travel to Oslo to meet Norway three days later.

Uruguay lie sixth in the American Qualifying Zone for the 2010 World Cup on four points from as many games, having collected six points less than leaders Paraguay.

In the qualifiers, Uruguay play Venezuela and Peru on June 14 and 17, respectively.
