Coventry have released Michael Hughes after the midfielder's contract with the club expired.The 36-year-old joined the Sky Blues on a one-year deal last summer and made 20 appearances during the 2007/08 campaign.
However, the former Northern Ireland international has been deemed surplus to requirements by City manager Chris Coleman.
Meanwhile, Coventry have added a trip to Cambridge United to their pre-season schedule.
City will face the Blue Square Premier club on July 26 in a game that will see striker Robbie Simpson returning to his old stomping ground.
