Dominic Matteo, Russell Hoult, Marlon Broomes and Robert Garrett have all been released by newly-promoted Stoke City.Club captain Matteo spent the majority of City's promotion-winning season sidelined with a foot injury, while Hoult and Garrett spent time out on loan at Notts County and Wrexham respectively.
Broomes, meanwhile, has not made a senior appearance since sustaining an Achilles injury in April 2006.
Tony Pulis insists he is now busy implementing his plans for life in the Premier League next season.
"The work has already began," said Pulis. "Over the last two seasons I have had to build a new squad for each of the seasons and this year will be no different.
"We will make sure we get the best players we can at the best prices we can, but the players have to not only be good enough to keep us up, but they must also be the right players with the right attitude."
