Komljenovic crashes out after big jump.
Renault's Milos Komljenovic had a big off on day two of the Rally d'Italia Sardegna last weekend.
Komljenovic, who had already been sidelined on day 1 in SS2 with a broken driveshaft, re-started under the SupeRally on Saturday. However the Serbian didn't last long and in SS8 - the 29.31 kilometre-run through Monte Lerno 1, the second test of the day, he went off after a big jump.
The accident damaged the co-driver's side on his R3 and both were subsequently taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
Florian Niegel also crashed out on the Saturday when his Swift S1600 rolled end-over-end twice mid-stage causing extensive damage. The German, who was awarded his JWRC drive after winning the Suzuki Rallye Cup last year, had finished day one in sixth place.
"It was obviously a frustrating rally for us, as by the second day we were reduced to being spectators rather than drivers, as the result of our accident," noted the Suzuki man.
"In a fast left corner after a jump our front-left suspension broke. The car then got out of control and we rolled twice. Thanks to the very good safety of our Swift Super 1600 we are fine. Nevertheless we are really sad because our plan was to drive consistently without too much risk.
"But looking on the positive side, we have been able to have a bit of time behind the wheel of the car on gravel, which will be vital for the future as I am still lacking in experience compared to the others."
