They hold a four-goal advantage at the top of the table over Rangers, who face Aberdeen.

Celtic have a full squad for their game and Andreas Hinkel could come back into contention after missing the win over Hibernian with a knock.

Scott Brown is also pushing for a recall after losing his central midfield place to Barry Robson.

The trip to Pittodrie will be Rangers' 67th game of their season, which will come to an end when Smith's side face Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday.

A strike from Kris Boyd and a double courtesy of Jean-Claude Darcheville in a 3-1 win over St Mirren on Monday allowed Walter Smith's men to haul themselves level on points.

Here's what they are saying ahead of tonight's finale:

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan: "We will play the way we have played all season, and tried to play. There won't be any tactical magic. As a man used to say 'we are Celtic, just get on and play'. If we win it would need an incredible performance, by both sides, at Pittodrie. We can only try and do our job."

Celtic captain Stephen McManus: "Dundee United are a very good side and it is going to be a very tough game. Everybody is expecting both teams to win their games but sometimes it doesn't work out like that. Pittodrie and Tannadice are two of the hardest places to go. I think it will be one of those times when you can go into the history books. It is times like these you really relish. We have a chance to win the league but it is important not to rule anything out."

Ranagers manager Walter Smith: "We had an advantage going into the last three games and we lost that. We can only blame ourselves if it doesn't happen. We need to score but I think it's disrespectful to talk about goal difference. What I do find ironic is that we are seen as a defensive team yet we've scored more goals than any team in the league. If we were to win this league then it would certainly rank up there among the best for me."

Dundee United defender Sean Dillon: "All the talk has been about what the game means to Celtic but we're not interested in that. If we get beaten and I have to go away for my summer holidays on Friday with that hanging over me I won't like it. The rest of the lads are the same, we're in it for ourselves and we want to win. It's going to be a full house and there is big interest in the game so it's the kind of occasion we want to be involved in."

Aberdeen skipper Scott Severin: "There's still a lot at stake for us - we must send the supporters home happy. We have win bonuses to play for and a victory could mean a fourth-place finish for us. It's close to being a sell-out and it's always a great atmosphere at these games. If you ask any Aberdeen supporter, I'm sure they'd tell you the team they love to beat the most is Rangers. If we could scupper their chances of winning the league then the supporters would be happy."
